Where is Manoli Surat?

Manoli Surat is a village in SAS Nagar tehsil of SAS Nagar district in Punjab, India. It lies in the Puadh region, and the 2011 directory recorded Dera Bassi, about 15 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Rajpura community development block and is served by the Manoli Surata gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 039241, and it covers 352 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 2,396 people in Manoli Surat: 1,280 men and 1,116 women, living in 430 households, an average of about 5.6 people per household. Spread over its 352 hectares, the population density works out to about 681 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 872 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 301, about 13 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 944 people, about 39 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.

Literacy in 2011 stood at 66.83 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 71.26 per cent and women at 61.62 per cent.
