The village falls in the Saroya community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 032476, and it covers 163 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,169 people in Kaulgarh: 581 men and 588 women, living in 252 households, an average of about 4.6 people per household. Spread over its 163 hectares, the population density works out to about 717 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 1012 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 99, about 8 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 442 people, about 38 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
