Amrita Pritam
Amrita Pritam was a Punjabi poet and novelist, and the first woman to win the Sahitya Akademi Award, in 1956. Her poem Ajj Aakhaan Waris Shah Nu, written after Partition, is among the most quoted poems in Punjabi.
