Where is Aliwal?

Aliwal is a village of Jagraon tehsil in Ludhiana district, Punjab, in the Malwa region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Mullanpur Dakha, about 5 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Sidhwan Bet community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 033819, and it covers 440 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,047 people in Aliwal: 534 men and 513 women, living in 207 households, an average of about 5.1 people per household. Children up to the age of six numbered 120, about 11 per cent of the village.
