Where is Mattey Nangal?

Mattey Nangal is a village of Ajnala tehsil in Amritsar district, Punjab, in the Majha region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Ajnala, about 10 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Ajnala community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 037347, and it covers 342 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,404 people in Mattey Nangal: 732 men and 672 women, living in 250 households, an average of about 5.6 people per household. Children up to the age of six numbered 162, about 12 per cent of the village.
