Awan Ghore Shah is a village of Dasua tehsil in Hoshiarpur district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Urmar Tanda, about 15 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Tanda community development block and is served by the Awan--Ghore--Shah gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 030645, and it covers 187 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 724 people in Awan Ghore Shah: 348 men and 376 women, living in 177 households, an average of about 4.1 people per household. Spread over its 187 hectares, the population density works out to about 387 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 1080 women for every 1,000 men.
