Bagol Khurd is a village of Dasua tehsil in Hoshiarpur district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Urmar Tanda, about 9 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Tanda community development block and is served by the Bagol--Khurd gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 030852, and it covers 131 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 390 people in Bagol Khurd: 189 men and 201 women, living in 76 households, an average of about 5.1 people per household. Spread over its 131 hectares, the population density works out to about 298 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 1063 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 54, about 14 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 304 people, about 78 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.

Literacy in 2011 stood at 88.1 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 94.48 per cent and women at 82.08 per cent. The census recorded 114 workers, about 29 per cent of the village. Of the 82 main workers, the largest group, 50, were other workers in trade, transport and services, ahead of 27 cultivators on their own land and 4 agricultural labourers. A further 32 people were marginal workers, employed for only part of the year.
