Mauran (Nabha) is a village in Tapa tehsil of Barnala district in Punjab, India. It lies in the Malwa region, and the 2011 directory recorded Barnala, about 10 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Sehna community development block and is served by the Mauran Nabha gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 040073, and it covers 2,914 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 7,197 people in Mauran (Nabha): 3,839 men and 3,358 women, living in 1,291 households, an average of about 5.6 people per household. Spread over its 2,914 hectares, the population density works out to about 247 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 875 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 858, about 12 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 2,809 people, about 39 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.

Literacy in 2011 stood at 59.27 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 63.13 per cent and women at 54.93 per cent.
