Where is Bish Nandi?

Bish Nandi is a village in Jaito tehsil of Faridkot district in Punjab, India. It lies in the Malwa region, and the 2011 directory recorded Jaito, about 7 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Kot Kapura community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 035616, and it covers 980 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 3,012 people in Bish Nandi: 1,573 men and 1,439 women, living in 610 households, an average of about 4.9 people per household. Spread over its 980 hectares, the population density works out to about 307 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 915 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 276, about 9 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 1,213 people, about 40 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
