Bir Amloh is a village in Amloh tehsil of Fatehgarh Sahib district in Punjab, India. It lies in the Malwa region, and the 2011 directory recorded Amloh, about 1 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Amloh community development block and is served by the Bir Amloh P gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 032871, and it covers 213 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 721 people in Bir Amloh: 367 men and 354 women, living in 144 households, an average of about 5.0 people per household. Spread over its 213 hectares, the population density works out to about 338 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 965 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 104, about 14 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 360 people, about 50 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.

Literacy in 2011 stood at 73.26 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 79.44 per cent and women at 66.55 per cent. The census recorded 242 workers, about 34 per cent of the village. Of the 222 main workers, the largest group, 195, were other workers in trade, transport and services, ahead of 18 cultivators on their own land and 9 agricultural labourers. A further 20 people were marginal workers, employed for only part of the year.
