Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,005 people in Sidhupur Kalan: 423 men and 582 women, living in 202 households, an average of about 5.0 people per household. Spread over its 179 hectares, the population density works out to about 561 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 1376 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 100, about 10 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 431 people, about 43 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.

Literacy in 2011 stood at 71.71 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 84.32 per cent and women at 62.99 per cent. The census recorded 265 workers, about 26 per cent of the village. Of the 133 main workers, the largest group, 63, were cultivators on their own land, ahead of 56 other workers in trade, transport and services and 9 household industry workers. A further 132 people were marginal workers, employed for only part of the year.
