Where is Sirkapra?

Sirkapra is a village of Bassi Pathana tehsil in Fatehgarh Sahib district, Punjab, in the Malwa region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Fatehgarh Sahib, about 15 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Khera community development block and is served by the Sirkapur gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 032544, and it covers 153 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 636 people in Sirkapra: 334 men and 302 women, living in 107 households, an average of about 5.9 people per household. Spread over its 153 hectares, the population density works out to about 416 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 904 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 100, about 16 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 408 people, about 64 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
