Sohag Heri is a village of Fatehgarh Sahib tehsil in Fatehgarh Sahib district, Punjab, in the Malwa region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Fatehgarh Sahib, about 8 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Sirhind community development block and is served by the Sohog Heri gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 032795, and it covers 298 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 941 people in Sohag Heri: 514 men and 427 women, living in 176 households, an average of about 5.3 people per household. Spread over its 298 hectares, the population density works out to about 316 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 831 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 88, about 9 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 371 people, about 39 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.

Literacy in 2011 stood at 76.91 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 80.3 per cent and women at 72.8 per cent. The census recorded 349 workers, about 37 per cent of the village.
