Where is Talania?

Talania is a village of Fatehgarh Sahib tehsil in Fatehgarh Sahib district, Punjab, in the Malwa region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Bassi Pathana, about 4 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Bassi Pathana community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 032656, and it covers 541 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 281 people in Talania: 147 men and 134 women, living in 51 households, an average of about 5.5 people per household. Spread over its 541 hectares, the population density works out to about 52 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 912 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 30, about 11 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 56 people, about 20 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
