It lies in the Malwa region, and the 2011 directory recorded Guru Har Sahai, about 13 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Guru Har Sahai community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 034824, and it covers 52 hectares.

The 2011 census counted 63 people in Dona Bhadru: 37 men and 26 women, living in 10 households, an average of about 6.3 people per household.
