The village falls in the Fazilka community development block and is served by the Addul Khaliq urf Miani Basti gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 035090, and it covers 330 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,709 people in Miani Basti: 883 men and 826 women, living in 334 households, an average of about 5.1 people per household. Spread over its 330 hectares, the population density works out to about 518 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 935 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 239, about 14 per cent of the village.
