Tahliwala Jattan is a village of Fazilka tehsil in Fazilka district, Punjab, in the Malwa region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Fazilka, about 16 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Fazilka community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 035067, and it covers 1,606 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 2,395 people in Tahliwala Jattan: 1,263 men and 1,132 women, living in 416 households, an average of about 5.8 people per household. Spread over its 1,606 hectares, the population density works out to about 149 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 896 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 283, about 12 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 1,508 people, about 63 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.

Literacy in 2011 stood at 57.15 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 63.94 per cent and women at 49.6 per cent.
