Where is Thethar Kalan?

Thethar Kalan is a village of Firozpur tehsil in Ferozepur district, Punjab, in the Malwa region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Talwandi Bhai, about 10 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Ghall Khurd community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 034465, and it covers 404 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,549 people in Thethar Kalan: 824 men and 725 women, living in 316 households, an average of about 4.9 people per household. Spread over its 404 hectares, the population density works out to about 384 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 880 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 201, about 13 per cent of the village.
