Where is Bure Nangal?

Bure Nangal is a village of Batala tehsil in Gurdaspur district, Punjab, in the Majha region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Batala, about 15 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Batala community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 028649, and it covers 112 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,171 people in Bure Nangal: 610 men and 561 women, living in 211 households, an average of about 5.5 people per household. Spread over its 112 hectares, the population density works out to about 1,046 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 920 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 124, about 11 per cent of the village.
