Where is Mare?

Mare is a village of Gurdaspur tehsil in Gurdaspur district, Punjab, in the Majha region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Dhariwal, about 6 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Kahnuwan community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 028354, and it covers 103 hectares.

The 2011 census counted 535 people in Mare: 265 men and 270 women, living in 91 households, an average of about 5.9 people per household.
