Warsal Chak is a village in Batala tehsil of Gurdaspur district in Punjab, India. It lies in the Majha region, and the 2011 directory recorded Sri Hargobindpur, about 5 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Sri Hargobindpur community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 028536, and it covers 78 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 690 people in Warsal Chak: 347 men and 343 women, living in 136 households, an average of about 5.1 people per household. Spread over its 78 hectares, the population density works out to about 885 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 988 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 114, about 17 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 360 people, about 52 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.

Literacy in 2011 stood at 65.1 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 69.69 per cent and women at 60.55 per cent. The census recorded 189 workers, about 27 per cent of the village. A further 7 people were marginal workers, employed for only part of the year.

Neighbouring villages include Metla, Cheema, Mathola and Dhirowal.
