Where is Berchha?

Berchha is a village in Dasua tehsil of Hoshiarpur district in Punjab, India. It lies in the Doaba region, and the 2011 directory recorded Dasua, about 7 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Dasua community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 030818, and it covers 352 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 885 people in Berchha: 473 men and 412 women, living in 191 households, an average of about 4.6 people per household. Spread over its 352 hectares, the population density works out to about 251 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 871 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 102, about 12 per cent of the village.
