Dhamian Bedi is a village of Hoshiarpur tehsil in Hoshiarpur district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Hoshiarpur, about 21 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Hoshiarpur-I community development block and is served by the Dhamian--Bedi gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 031699, and it covers 282 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,412 people in Dhamian Bedi: 753 men and 659 women, living in 299 households, an average of about 4.7 people per household. Spread over its 282 hectares, the population density works out to about 501 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 875 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 140, about 10 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 433 people, about 31 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.

Literacy in 2011 stood at 80.27 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 82.38 per cent and women at 77.83 per cent. The census recorded 494 workers, about 35 per cent of the village.
