Kallowal is a village of Dasua tehsil in Hoshiarpur district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Dasua, about 7 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Dasua community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 030980, and it covers 224 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 853 people in Kallowal: 429 men and 424 women, living in 183 households, an average of about 4.7 people per household. Spread over its 224 hectares, the population density works out to about 381 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 988 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 75, about 9 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 215 people, about 25 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
