Where is Khadiala Sainian?

Khadiala Sainian is a village in Hoshiarpur tehsil of Hoshiarpur district in Punjab, India. It lies in the Doaba region, and the 2011 directory recorded Hoshiarpur, about 16 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Hoshiarpur-I community development block and is served by the Khadiala--Sainian gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 031603, and it covers 353 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,880 people in Khadiala Sainian: 979 men and 901 women, living in 408 households, an average of about 4.6 people per household. Spread over its 353 hectares, the population density works out to about 533 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 920 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 182, about 10 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 425 people, about 23 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.

Literacy in 2011 stood at 92.11 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 94.94 per cent and women at 89 per cent. The census recorded 650 workers, about 35 per cent of the village.
