Where is Nangal Farid?

Nangal Farid is a village of Dasua tehsil in Hoshiarpur district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Urmar Tanda, about 12 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Tanda community development block and is served by the Nangal--Farid gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 030691, and it covers 151 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,089 people in Nangal Farid: 551 men and 538 women, living in 236 households, an average of about 4.6 people per household. Spread over its 151 hectares, the population density works out to about 721 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 976 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 106, about 10 per cent of the village.
