Where is Rattre?

Rattre is a village of Dasua tehsil in Hoshiarpur district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Dasua, about 10 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Dasua community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 030983, and it covers 72 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 295 people in Rattre: 141 men and 154 women, living in 57 households, an average of about 5.2 people per household. Spread over its 72 hectares, the population density works out to about 410 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 1092 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 29, about 10 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 124 people, about 42 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
