Usman Shahid is a village of Dasua tehsil in Hoshiarpur district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Dasua, about 1 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Dasua community development block and is served by the Usman--Shahid gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 030993, and it covers 500 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,992 people in Usman Shahid: 989 men and 1,003 women, living in 429 households, an average of about 4.6 people per household. Spread over its 500 hectares, the population density works out to about 398 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 1014 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 214, about 11 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 360 people, about 18 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
