The village falls in the Garhshankar community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 031964, and it covers 308 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,358 people in Wahidpur: 710 men and 648 women, living in 324 households, an average of about 4.2 people per household. Spread over its 308 hectares, the population density works out to about 441 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 913 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 98, about 7 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 588 people, about 43 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
