Where is Partappura?

Partappura is a village of Phillaur tehsil in Jalandhar district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Phillaur, about 10 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Nurmahal community development block and is served by the Partappura, Kalyanpur gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 030040, and it covers 687 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 2,770 people in Partappura: 1,380 men and 1,390 women, living in 610 households, an average of about 4.5 people per household. Spread over its 687 hectares, the population density works out to about 403 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 1007 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 261, about 9 per cent of the village.
