Where is Raipur Gujran?

Raipur Gujran is a village of Nakodar tehsil in Jalandhar district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Nakodar, about 15 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Nakodar community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 030003, and it covers 305 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 596 people in Raipur Gujran: 296 men and 300 women, living in 98 households, an average of about 6.1 people per household. Spread over its 305 hectares, the population density works out to about 195 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 1014 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 75, about 13 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 421 people, about 71 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.

Nakodar, the tehsil headquarters, and Jalandhar town, the district headquarters, are the practical hubs for administration and onward travel. Neighbouring villages include Bitlan, Chhaula, Gaunsuwal and Raipur Araian (Nakodar).
