Alaudi is a village in Kapurthala tehsil of Kapurthala district in Punjab, India. It lies in the Doaba region, and the 2011 directory recorded Kapurthala, about 11 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Kapurthala community development block and is served by the Ibban gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 029257, and it covers 81 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 147 people in Alaudi: 74 men and 73 women, living in 28 households, an average of about 5.2 people per household. Spread over its 81 hectares, the population density works out to about 181 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 986 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 15, about 10 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 134 people, about 91 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.

Literacy in 2011 stood at 78.79 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 89.86 per cent and women at 66.67 per cent. The census recorded 94 workers, about 64 per cent of the village. Of the 83 main workers, the largest group, 37, were other workers in trade, transport and services, ahead of 35 agricultural labourers and 9 cultivators on their own land. A further 11 people were marginal workers, employed for only part of the year.

Irrigation came mainly from wells and tube-wells (75 hectares). About 6 hectares were under non-agricultural uses such as the village settlement, roads and ponds.
