Population and households

The 2011 census counted 647 people in Balehar Kalan: 346 men and 301 women, living in 129 households, an average of about 5.0 people per household. Spread over its 59 hectares, the population density works out to about 1,090 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 870 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 58, about 9 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 209 people, about 32 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.

Literacy in 2011 stood at 84.72 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 87.82 per cent and women at 81.23 per cent.
