Where is Domeli?

Domeli is a village of Phagwara tehsil in Kapurthala district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Phagwara, about 20 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Phagwara community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 029600, and it covers 664 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 2,075 people in Domeli: 1,078 men and 997 women, living in 476 households, an average of about 4.4 people per household. Spread over its 664 hectares, the population density works out to about 312 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 925 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 220, about 11 per cent of the village.
