Lakhpur is a village of Phagwara tehsil in Kapurthala district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Phagwara, about 12 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Phagwara community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 029607, and it covers 379 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,895 people in Lakhpur: 970 men and 925 women, living in 390 households, an average of about 4.9 people per household. Spread over its 379 hectares, the population density works out to about 500 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 954 women for every 1,000 men.
