Where is Rehana Jattan?

Rehana Jattan is a village of Phagwara tehsil in Kapurthala district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Phagwara, about 15 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Phagwara community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 029573, and it covers 609 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 2,621 people in Rehana Jattan: 1,386 men and 1,235 women, living in 554 households, an average of about 4.7 people per household. Spread over its 609 hectares, the population density works out to about 430 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 891 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 245, about 9 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 1,102 people, about 42 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.

Literacy in 2011 stood at 84.85 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 88.17 per cent and women at 81.16 per cent.
