Kot Fatuhi is a village of Garhshankar tehsil in Hoshiarpur district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Kot Fatta, about 10 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Garhshankar community development block and is served by the Kot--Fatuhi gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 031801, and it covers 233 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 3,454 people in Kot Fatuhi: 1,756 men and 1,698 women, living in 712 households, an average of about 4.9 people per household. Spread over its 233 hectares, the population density works out to about 1,482 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 967 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 355, about 10 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 1,455 people, about 42 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.

Literacy in 2011 stood at 85.51 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 88.88 per cent and women at 82.03 per cent. The census recorded 1,138 workers, about 33 per cent of the village. Of the 1,065 main workers, the largest group, 910, were other workers in trade, transport and services, ahead of 115 cultivators on their own land and 24 agricultural labourers. A further 73 people were marginal workers, employed for only part of the year.
