Where is Phagguwal?

Phagguwal is a village in Ludhiana West tehsil of Ludhiana district in Punjab, India. It lies in the Malwa region, and the 2011 directory recorded Ludhiana, about 10 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Ludhiana-II community development block and is served by the Manj gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 033621, and it covers 80 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 313 people in Phagguwal: 175 men and 138 women, living in 59 households, an average of about 5.3 people per household. Spread over its 80 hectares, the population density works out to about 391 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 789 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 37, about 12 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 183 people, about 58 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
