Population and households

The 2011 census counted 2,331 people in Talwandi Khurd: 1,223 men and 1,108 women, living in 457 households, an average of about 5.1 people per household. Spread over its 627 hectares, the population density works out to about 372 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 906 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 218, about 9 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 605 people, about 26 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
