Jalwehra is a village in Budhlada tehsil of Mansa district in Punjab, India. It lies in the Malwa region, and the 2011 directory recorded Bareta, about 2 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Budhlada community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 036035, and it covers 442 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,397 people in Jalwehra: 744 men and 653 women, living in 266 households, an average of about 5.3 people per household. Spread over its 442 hectares, the population density works out to about 316 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 878 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 152, about 11 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 544 people, about 39 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.

Literacy in 2011 stood at 56.14 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 60.52 per cent and women at 51.27 per cent. The census recorded 482 workers, about 35 per cent of the village.
