Where is Kar Heri?

Kar Heri is a village in Patiala tehsil of Patiala district in Punjab, India. It lies in the Malwa region, and the 2011 directory recorded Patiala, about 2 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Patiala community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 036536, and it covers 151 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 2,766 people in Kar Heri: 1,447 men and 1,319 women, living in 618 households, an average of about 4.5 people per household. Spread over its 151 hectares, the population density works out to about 1,832 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 912 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 221, about 8 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 251 people, about 9 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
