Where is Pindian?

Pindian is a village in Khadur Sahib tehsil of Tarn Taran district in Punjab, India. It lies in the Majha region, and the 2011 directory recorded Patti, about 6 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Khadur Sahib community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 038274, and it covers 289 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,049 people in Pindian: 549 men and 500 women, living in 195 households, an average of about 5.4 people per household. Spread over its 289 hectares, the population density works out to about 363 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 911 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 129, about 12 per cent of the village.
