Where is Raghwal?

Raghwal is a village of Dasua tehsil in Hoshiarpur district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Dasua, about 10 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Bhunga community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 030902, and it covers 483 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 606 people in Raghwal: 299 men and 307 women, living in 133 households, an average of about 4.6 people per household. Spread over its 483 hectares, the population density works out to about 125 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 1027 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 78, about 13 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 140 people, about 23 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
