Where is Asmanpur?

Asmanpur is a village of Anandpur Sahib tehsil in Rupnagar district, Punjab, in the Puadh region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Anandpur Sahib, about 15 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Nurpur Bedi community development block and is served by the Asmanpur Upper, Asmanpur Lower) gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 038470, and it covers 146 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 809 people in Asmanpur: 408 men and 401 women, living in 150 households, an average of about 5.4 people per household. Spread over its 146 hectares, the population density works out to about 554 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 983 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 82, about 10 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 212 people, about 26 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.

Neighbouring villages include Raipur, Sandhoa, Munna and Azampur.
