Where is Haripur?

Haripur is a village in Anandpur Sahib tehsil of Rupnagar district in Punjab, India. It lies in the Puadh region, and the 2011 directory recorded Anandpur Sahib, about 15 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Nurpur Bedi community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 038351, and it covers 189 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 489 people in Haripur: 247 men and 242 women, living in 103 households, an average of about 4.7 people per household. Spread over its 189 hectares, the population density works out to about 259 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 980 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 64, about 13 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 31 people, about 6 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.

Neighbouring villages include Samundari, Palahta, Kahanpur and Spalwan.
