Kotli is a village of Chamkaur Sahib tehsil in Rupnagar district, Punjab, in the Puadh region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Chamkaur Sahib, about 6 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Chamkaur Sahib community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 038877, and it covers 224 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 564 people in Kotli: 286 men and 278 women, living in 117 households, an average of about 4.8 people per household. Spread over its 224 hectares, the population density works out to about 252 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 972 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 66, about 12 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 136 people, about 24 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
