Where is Muzafat?

Muzafat is a village of Chamkaur Sahib tehsil in Rupnagar district, Punjab, in the Puadh region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Rupnagar, about 13 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Chamkaur Sahib community development block and is served by the Majafat gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 038790, and it covers 39 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 426 people in Muzafat: 229 men and 197 women, living in 90 households, an average of about 4.7 people per household. Spread over its 39 hectares, the population density works out to about 1,092 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 860 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 45, about 11 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 6 people, about 1 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
