Where is Bahalpur?

Bahalpur is a village of Kharar tehsil in SAS Nagar district, Punjab, in the Puadh region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Kurali, about 8 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Majri community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 039089, and it covers 120 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 274 people in Bahalpur: 148 men and 126 women, living in 46 households, an average of about 6.0 people per household. Spread over its 120 hectares, the population density works out to about 228 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 851 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 25, about 9 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 63 people, about 23 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
