Dau Majra is a village in Kharar tehsil of SAS Nagar district in Punjab, India. It lies in the Puadh region, and the 2011 directory recorded Kharar, about 3 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Kharar community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 039055, and it covers 153 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,404 people in Dau Majra: 764 men and 640 women, living in 275 households, an average of about 5.1 people per household. Spread over its 153 hectares, the population density works out to about 918 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 838 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 156, about 11 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 398 people, about 28 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.

Literacy in 2011 stood at 80.77 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 83.73 per cent and women at 77.27 per cent. The census recorded 432 workers, about 31 per cent of the village. A further 14 people were marginal workers, employed for only part of the year.
