Where is Bharo Mazara?

Bharo Mazara is a village of Nawanshahr tehsil in SBS Nagar district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Banga, about 3 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Aur community development block and is served by the Bharo Majra gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 032201, and it covers 149 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,662 people in Bharo Mazara: 881 men and 781 women, living in 353 households, an average of about 4.7 people per household. Spread over its 149 hectares, the population density works out to about 1,115 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 886 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 164, about 10 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 1,209 people, about 73 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
